This calculator builds a daily target from your TDEE and goal, then splits it using AMDR (Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Range) proportions, adjustable by training style.

Food energy is measured in calories, but the label 'Calorie' (capital C) is actually a kilocalorie — 1,000 small calories.
Much of the world labels food in kilojoules instead. The fixed conversion factor is 4.184 kJ per kcal, so switching units is exact arithmetic.

A1C (HbA1c) measures the percentage of hemoglobin with glucose attached, reflecting average blood sugar over the previous two to three months.
The ADA-endorsed equation converts A1C to estimated average glucose (eAG), expressed in mg/dL or mmol/L — the units shown on glucose meters.
eAG (mg/dL) = 28.7 × A1C − 46.7
mmol/L = mg/dL ÷ 18

These are healthy-adult references. Pregnancy, kidney disease, diabetes, and eating disorders all change the arithmetic — sometimes dramatically — and in those cases the targets on this page yield to clinical guidance.
